I have been teaching an upper grade for the last several years. I have spent a lot of my own money on supplies hoping that I would stay in an upper grade. I will now be teaching Kindergarten and really don't have any of the supplies I would like to have for them! Please help me start over! Giving these children the supplies I have requested will help them love to learn. Kindergarten is where we try and create that love of school and love of learning. Without it, children may decide they don't like school and its hard to change those feelings once they start. Please help me create the learning environment they need! In my shopping cart are a lot of new books at a kindergarten level. Over the years I have purchased many books but not for little kids. There is also a new morning meeting all about today center. In this center, we will count the number of days of school, the weather, the calendar, and what’s happening at school today. I also have a behavior chart to help track the kids' good behaviors, a number line board to help with math, and whiteboards for each child to record their work while in group lessons. This will allow me to see their answers gaging who understands and who doesn’t. And a number peg board to help with one to one corespondence. These will all help with hand skills in learning which is very important in kindergarten.
