Due to the pandemic, this year we have removed our class carpets to help with cleaning and sanitation in our classrooms. Classroom carpets have been a gathering place in our kindergarten room which help with proximity and social-emotional growth for young children. We enjoy sitting at the area to listen to stories and learn. This project will allow us to use these seat cushions as markers at a safe distance to comfortably sit around the classroom. At this time, with so many new practices, it is important children are able to feel connected to classmates, even if it has to be at a distance. This will create flexible seating options for our kindergarten learners. These cushions can be labeled and sanitized to keep everyone safe and healthy while still maintaining a fun learning environment.
