I am beginning my second year with flexible seating options for my kindergarten students. I call these choices "Smart Spots". Each time students transition from our time on the carpet to a seat, they get to choose where they'd like to work. When given a choice in where they Learn, students thrive! Some of these choices will be a taller stool at a table, a floor pillow at a short table, a wiggle stool at a desk, or a floor chair with a clipboard. I am always amazed that even at such a young age, students love to take control of their own learning, and choice in where they sit is a great first step!

About my class
