Students love using white boards during math to figure out answers. They get so excited every time I say "get out your white boards." They are just plain fun compared to paper and pencil. Plus, they save a lot of trees! Students are taught to complete a math problem and "chin the board" so no one else can see their answer. Then I call out "one, two, three, show me!" I can quickly see how many students have mastered a skill. Too few, then it is time for me to reteach. If everyone has the right answer, I know I can move on to the next skill. The boards I have right now are very old. I have been using them for almost 10 years. They are no longer white! No matter how much I scrub them, they don't come completely clean, and sometimes I cannot see the student's writing. Thank you for your kindness!
