My awesome 3rd graders enjoy independent reading and listening to engaging read aloud books. The chosen books will be beneficial in so many ways. This will foster discussion around a variety of texts. My students are always excited for new read aloud books. The daily time devoted to reading aloud allows me to model great fluency and thinking aloud as I read. This will help students access the reading, writing and speaking and listening standards. Additionally, students will be able to make text to self connections as these books reflects specific experiences. These donations will help my students access great books that will foster rich class discussions.
