When most students think of programming, they think of setting behind a desktop computer and it might be difficult to learn. With the use of iPads, we can operate the Sphero Sprk+ using the educational app provided or use them with Apple Playgrounds app for coding to learn swift programming. The Sphero Sprk+ will be used to get introduced to programming, create competitive challenges, and collaborate with each other to develop soft skills needed for the workplace. The students will be exposed to math and physics concepts in a new way. It will bring what some people call “boring” material to something that is exciting and creative! I brought my personal Sphero SPRK+ to school to show them the capabilities of what it can do and it really made them excited to try and investigate how it worked. Interest in Computer Science and progressing them to the next course in Robotics is the main goal of this project.
