These materials will be used to reinforce concepts learned in class. Students will be able to play bingo to learn about the main idea, or a board game to learn vocabulary. Suddenly, lessons that seem mundane and boring to some students, will seem more exciting and worthwhile. Imagine a student who struggles to pay attention suddenly engaged, thinking about how important the information being taught would be to the game he would soon play. Unfortunately, our school doesn't have a large collection of materials like this, and many of the games we do have are no longer aligned to current standards. Following a teach, play, practice approach for the school year, I believe, will make a world of difference for my students.
