Children need to move! Flexible seating such as these balls and stools allow students to wobble and bounce getting their energy out while engaging in a task. Studies suggest that children who participate in short bouts of physical activity within the classroom have more on task behavior, too. Children with special needs need to practice balance and strengthening exercises. Flexible seating is perfect in helping my students achieve these goals. With flexible seating children are better able to focus on learning while getting excess energy out. Flexible seating will make a huge positive difference in my preschool special needs classroom!
