The items I have selected will support creative opportunities for healthy emotional expression. Liquid watercolor paints will help give their personal stories color, and vibrancy. The iPads will give them a place to write their personal stories, and add to them with photography. They will also serve as digital lab journals while working on our science investigations. Effective Communication is needed in their school projects as well as their personal lives. Whether it's creating a story with the use of the ipad, or using paint, or other color producing media, to share their math and science findings, access to art and technology helps them overcome their fears about sharing their stories, with or without words, and learn ways to express themselves in a healthy manner. I am trying several different strategies this year to inspire and encourage them to share their ideas, and newly acquired knowledge. All children need a platform upon which they are heard, and know that what they communicate is valued.
