This Apple TV will not only help my students learn but also help them learn HOW to learn. I already have an iPad and an iPad pencil, all I’m missing is the Apple TV. Having these three components will allow me to establish a wireless connection to my projector in my classroom from my iPad. This will allow me to model my lesson from my iPad while being able to move around the classroom. This will benefit all the learners in my classroom. It will help my auditory learners because I won’t disproportionately be standing next to one group of the class the whole time and it will help my visual learners because they will be able to follow along in their guided notes with my exemplar on the board that I’m filling in with my iPad pencil on the iPad. This will also prevent me from blocking the board with my body if I was just writing on the board with a whiteboard marker. This will also allow me to easily display student work my using the camera on my iPad as a document camera. By helping students not only see a completed exemplar problem but also hear my thinking out loud and visually see the steps I take as I take them, I will be able to effectively model how to learn. As a college preparatory school, I feel that it is extremely important to model learning and thinking to my students in the most effective way possible and I believe that having an Apple TV will help me achieve this.
