It has been an honor fighting alongside my students for two years proving people wrong about who they are as scholars and as humans in society. As I stand up every day it turns out they don't want to sit that still that long, also turns out sitting still isn't always developmentally appropriate. Imagine having to listen to me talk for 8 hours a day, now imagine 25 nine year old kids having to listen to me talk that long, now imagine me saying you can't move. Nightmare. Last year I purchased a few of these items on my own and not only were they coveted by other students they were game changers for my little wiggle worms. I am really excited about the blue tranquil filters so that we are not daily blinded by the fluorescent lighting in the classroom and have already set up the area for the medicine balls and I know they are going to thrive! The stools are specifically for guided reading as well. While I will never be close to the classrooms we see on instagram I hope to give my kids a taste of what it is like to not only be comfortable but to be in a learning environment that serves them best. Join me in making sure that every scholar knows that they can indeed sit with us.
