Hands-on learning opportunities give students a drive to want to discover and learn more. A set of teaching globes in my classroom would allow for more students to be able to access the globes more frequently and use them during class projects and small group investigations. With these hands-on teaching globes and this set of write and wipe off maps my students will be able work in groups and experience in a more concrete way geography and earth science concepts. The globes will help my third graders develop their spherical thinking skills along with many other concepts. The write and wipe off maps will give my class opportunities track their learning and personalize their group work in order to share with the class and the teacher. Students love getting their hands on learning tools and using visuals to show others the knowledge they have attained. I am sure these additions will add so much excitement to our class!
