Students prefer to sit on a rug rather than the floor, and for some younger learners, especially those with special needs, a rug provides boundaries. The rug also provides reinforcement on some key concepts - colors, letters, and numbers. This rug also enables the para and me to sit on the carpet with them. Through modeling circle time routines together, the students will learn circle time expectations. When students are provided with repeated exposure to concepts like those on this rug, especially in different environments, the students can master the material more easily. I love this specific rug because it matches our rainbow classroom decor.
