The books I am requesting will help my students have more choice in the reading materials that they will read in my classroom. I have specifically found more engaging books that are leveled to the students I will have next year. I also have asked for donations for sets of books that I will use in my book clubs using the Lucy Calkins Reading program. These will be used to teach specific reading strategies to my students and allow them to have book talks about these books with each other. Thank you for providing my students with engaging high-interest reading materials that they will be eager to read and discuss.
