I love reading books to the students in my music classes. A good book is a great way to create interest and excitement with students. Together, my students and I use books to sing stories, experience history, explore sounds, discover concepts, and introduce instruments. Books such as Acoustic Rooster, Playing at the Border, and Dancing Hands will be used in my classes to give students opportunities to explore sound and instruments of the orchestra. I will use these books to introduce topics to my young students. These stories will open their minds to new ideas, cultures, instruments, and sounds that can be used in music. We will use them to make fun sounds to explore our voices, as well as learn about musicians, and stories of young performers to inspire them. We can't wait to get started!
