I teach at a Title I school and want to continue to give my students every opportunity that they greatly deserve to have an engaging and meaningful educational experience! It is so important for kids to be able to move during the day, and flexible seating allows for that. There is a plethera of research about flexible seating and creating engaging learning environments that helps make school interesting for kids. With these items, I will be able to give all of my children an opportunity to learn in their own unique way, while keeping them engaged and excited about being in my classroom. The yoga ball seats will be used at my desk during intervention time, to make the experience less daunting for students. With portable desks students can choose a comfortable seat on the floor, which they love, and the lap desks can be taken outdoors for science investigations. Wobble seats help those students who are squirmy and have a constant need to move in order to focus, and a rug will provide a perimeter for them to sit in as well as comfort during class meetings and mini lessons. Bean bags and saucer chairs are ideal for independent work and reading time, making individual stations seem like less of a burden.
