My students have been in the Spanish immersion program since Kinder-garden. I have one of the most diverse classrooms in the district with students of all backgrounds and identities, some student are native Spanish speakers while for some, Spanish is their second language. In my classroom we not only learn the Spanish language, we also learn cultural nuances that complement the language with customs and practices beyond foods and holiday celebrations. We strive to incorporate old-school character attributes of discipline, respect and humility with Justice, Communalism and equity. It is my honor to work with my students, I hope with these projects, our experiences can be enriched even more.
