Through meaningful play, our students are given the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the learning process throughout the day. Play supports children’s social emotional learning, helps develop communication skills, and allows them to practice math and literacy skills with their peers. The materials I am requesting will allow me to expand the class’ engaging centers and project-based learning curriculum. For example, students will become engineers as they create and build at the Playmags magnet center, and transform into veterinarians at the pet center. Your contribution, no matter how small, will give the class more opportunities to create meaningful play experiences, which will do so much more than just support their academic and social development. It will make their first grade year one they will never forget!
