Hi! My name is Mrs.Haskins and I am a teacher of a remarkable 1st grade class! My students are really behind in technology and we rarely have enough computers for students to complete tasks in a world where technology is reigning supreme in almost everything they do. I want to bring a hands on reading tech program called “Alive Studios” to my classroom. It is a reading program that includes a projector, software download, a spelling mat, letter cards and sight words, digraph cards, etc. When the cards are used under the document camera, it displays a 3D generated animal that represents the letter card (which is also linked to videos of real life animals). When paired with the sight word cards and digraphs, etc. students can make sentences and discover words (that can be read allowed within the program). I had an opportunity to use this product when I visited the International Literacy Association in Austin, Texas. I truly believe “Alive Studios” is a revolutionary product that brings the love of animals into the love of reading and phonics. It supports my English Language Learners with incredible images and voice response, and it is an addicting product that not only teaches reading, but is also very FUN!
