The students coming into my classroom have challenges and needs that go beyond typical seating arrangements. The school cannot provide for all classrooms. In fact, the school’s classrooms are not equipped to help students in this way at all. I’m looking to help students stay engaged and active in their learning, so they can be successful. Seating and attention holders are keys to this idea. The rug and lamp will utilized so students can lay on the rug or sit on a beanbag chair with clipboards to work with softer lighting. The chairbands will be placed on chairs under desks for students that tend to tap,bounce or struggle to sit still. My classroom aims to be safe and flexible, so students feel welcome and that their specific needs are being met. Attention, comfortablity and access equals success in the classroom, so these are the goals I am to achieve.
