I teach in a self contained classroom with students with a number of various disabilities. I have had students with intellectual disabilities, orthopedic disabilities, autism, emotional disabilities, and sensory issues. Having the florescent light covers will help block out a lot of the harsh lights that are in the classroom. It will help create a feeling of calm for my students. I would also like a lamp that can have soft light bulbs put in it. This would greatly benefit all of my students, emotionally and academically. In order to meet where they are academically, we must first meet their physical needs.
