I am an English Language Arts/Reading teacher at a DAEP high school in Fort Worth ISD in TX. Our school is for students who get in trouble in or out of school. It's my first year as a classroom teacher, but third year in Education. My goal for the classroom is a welcoming environment, where they are comfortable opening up, building relationships, and of course learning. Despite these students attending a DAEP campus, my academic expectations for them are high; we will be writing short stories, essays, and poetry, and we will be reading novels, informative texts, poetry, and drama.
