My students will have the opportunity to read so many different books throughout their year in my classroom. They can come to class knowing I have pencils, highlighters, and sticky notes they are free to use for their readers writers notebooks. They will be comfortable in the flexible seating options by sitting in a non traditional chair that offers them some movement instead of a stiff plastic chair. As they type entries into their blogs they can choose to sit wherever feels most comfortable for them. Gone are the days of stiff desks in rows. We will be able to plan and rewrite essays using post it notes instead of traditional paper and pencil. Colorful pens will provide an eye catching way to change up our writing. They can also leave their papers and supplies in my organizational drawers knowing their work is safe and secure.
