Last year about 75% of my students were level one readers and reading stories out of the assigned textbook was a huge challenge for them. In due time I discovered finding outside background information about the future readings really helped my students gain a better understanding of the material we were about to read and actually helped them become more engaged on the reading. With the books I requested, I would be able to give my students more information on a time period that helped shape music, arts, and literature today.

About my class
