My intention as a first year teacher is to implement a variety of seating arrangements, lighting, and desk/table ideas so that students can choose to sit so that they learn best in my room. My goal this year, along with the common core standards, will be to empower the students in a positive way, so that they will enjoy learning and optimize their success. In order to achieve this sense of empowerment and success, I feel like it is important to provide them with ample opportunities to choose and decide the way they learn best, which will substantially lower negative behavior and promote self learning and success.
