I'm moving from a 16 students kindergarten bilingual classroom to a 32 student 1st grade classroom next year. My students need a calm environment empty of distractions to learn and grow during the school year. Currently my classroom only has 16 very old chairs that are mismatched, heavy and not the appropriate seat height for young 6 to 7 year old students. I don't have enough chairs for my entire classroom! Being in school for almost 7 and half hours means being able to be comfortable to work at tables. I would love to give my students the ability to have new chairs and comfortable seating. I hope I can provide that for them in my classroom. The right furniture and the appropriate seating is helpful to a classroom that is already lacking so many other supplies. At least I can start with chairs for seating.
