Flexible seating options will benefit the students because they will feel more comfortable from the moment they step into the classroom. The fifth graders are in the classroom for blocks of 80 minutes. That's a long time for anyone, especially a child, to stay engaged and focused on a learning task! During independent work time, students will be able to choose the seating or even standing work station that is best for them. The wobble cushions, balance pads, anti-fatigue mats, and lap desk/stands will provide choices that will benefit the students as they gain both confidence and knowledge. Providing these options for the students will help them increase their focus and retain the skills they are learning.
