I am beginning a Literacy Lab at my school and am requesting books for this project. I am hoping to build a library in the literacy lab that will encourage my students to love reading. In order to do this I need books on a variety of topics and reading levels. I will teach my students to love and care for our library. Throughout their time in the lab students will be given opportunities to read with me, a parent volunteer, or through independent practice. Guided reading groups will also play a large role in helping students build those essential literacy skills. With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of interesting topics at their own independent reading level. The best way to increase a student's reading ability is to read more, and these books will help my students develop into strong readers.
