Why flexible seating? My students will benefit from flexible seating by learning how to collaborate/communicate with their peers effectively, take ownership of how they learn best, and foster their independence. Students will use the seating throughout our class environment by choosing the space and seating option that helps them learn best. The seating options will be available for students to choose when it it time for them to work. 1. Students learn best when they have choice over their environment. 2. Encourages children to share space, supplies, and work together building their sense of community. 3. Children need to move to increase on task behavior. 4. Comfort= Calm, focused, and productive students. 5. Students learn best when they are able to easily collaborate by pairing up, working in small groups, or discussing as a class. 6. Produces independent learners because they are responsible for understanding how they learn best! MATURITY
