When students are comfortable in their environment they are able to concentrate on the learning that is taking place. It takes a lot of thinking for young children to be able to sit “correctly” in a chair, at a desk or table and complete their work. By having flexible seating, the students will be able to choose where they are comfortable and where they feel they will be able to do their best work. Currently, there is tile, hard chairs and tables in the classroom and I want to make it more inviting and warm for the students. Who really wants to sit only on hard chairs at a table all day? Flexibility of where to sit should be a choice. I have chosen carpets, small couch, floor seats, wobble chairs, and soft seats to help provide the different options of seating for the students. This will allow them to chose where to sit in a place that they feel they can learn best.
