Flexible seating will allow my students to become more engaged in their learning by being comfortable while they work. When students are working, they can be comfortable in one of the bean bag chairs, saucer chairs, on a chair ball or on a stool all while using a lap desk or a clipboard to write on. During independent work time students can physically move their seat to sit in a group to collaborate giving my students a sense of community. This also allows some of my more "wiggly" students to get their "wiggles" out by moving. Through flexible seating my students will be able to take ownership in their learning by being comfortable to relax and allow them to focus on the topic at hand. Using bean bag chairs, saucer chairs, stools, chair balls, clipboards and lap desks will allow my students to become empowered to grow their minds mathematically and to help create a wonderful learning experience.
