Mentor texts allow students to take ownership of their learning by actively engaging in the lessons. These mentor texts specifically model our school-wide behavioral expectations. The book, Decibella, will be used to teach voice level expectations in all school settings. The books, Personal Space Camp, Hands Off Harry and What Were You Thinking help students understand the importance of respecting personal space and model the correct way to handle impulsive behavior. Do Unto Otters is a book that explores the theme of treating others with kindness and respect. To help students understand the importance of following rules and expectations, teachers will use the book, What If Everybody Did That.
