The carpet requested will assist my students during our daily ELA and Social Studies lessons. In my personal experience throughout my years of teaching, students enjoy being read to (even in the 4th grade). When students come to the carpet, it is an intimate family like atmosphere where everyone listens to the text being read aloud, students engage in meaningful conversations, and ask great questions. It makes our classroom a close-knit family when we share on the carpet, as opposed to students shouting across the room from their desk. Students also work on the floor with partners for both ELA and Social Studies. The students appreciate having a comfortable place on the floor to sit while they are learning. Having a cozy place in the corner of our room to learn is inviting and it makes the students engaged and eager to learn. The carpet is a place where we can all come together when we have our morning meetings. During morning meetings, everyone has the opportunity to wish someone well or share something with the class. Thanks in advance for your generosity.
