I am currently teaching at a school in the South Bronx that has no physical education budget. I have obtained most of my equipment through generous donations of friends, civic organizations, and athletic directors. In order to foster a love of sports it is imperative that children use soft balls to practice fundamental sport skills. Soft foam balls provide safety and reassurance that no student will get hurt. The fear of becoming hurt is removed. Therefore students are more likely to participate and try their best. Students will throw, kick, bat, bump, catch, and perform various other skills with these balls. All 1300 students will use these balls and these balls will be used for many years to come.
