This fall we will return to a school that is different from what my students and self have ever known. In an effort to create an environment that is healthy, safe, and flexible I will be replacing desks with yoga mats. As a class we will be using social distancing standards to determine how we move and interact in our room. Rather than restrict students to a desk I want to create an experience where they can move their bodies and feel grounded as they learn. With yoga mats students can maintain social distancing standards, have a clean and healthy space, all while being able to stand, sit, lay during their learning time. This will allow students to feel comfortable in school instead of isolated.
