Books are powerful. They can be mirrors that reflect our identities and windows that provide insight into the lives of others. My students need access to diverse books that reflect their lives, provide new perspectives, challenge them to grow, and inspire them to continue reading. Stories build empathy, inspire positive action, and promote self-acceptance. I want my students to see themselves in the characters and authors they read. My school does not have a library and the local library has limited after-school hours. By expanding my classroom library, I hope to provide easy access to highly engaging books for my students. Let's work together to support our readers and our future!
