Classroom rugs provide an alternative seating option that allows teachers and students a cozy place to come together and learn. I love having spaces in my classroom for students to learn and work other than their desks, which can be uncomfortable and distracting for kids. Having a designated and comfortable space such as a classroom rug gives us another option in our classroom for whole group, small group, and individual learning. Students can come together for a read-aloud and book discussion in an area where all students can see and hear the book being read. They can choose to meet with their literature circle groups or math peer tutoring teams in a quieter and more intimate space, or even choose to read individually while stretched out in the mornings. There are so many amazing uses for a classroom rug that makes it an essential supply in any teacher's collection!
