I work in a Title 1 school and in a grade level that is saturated with stress and testing. With your help, my students will have a place that can feel like home, a place that may be their only safe haven. I implemented a bit of flexible seating last school year and my students loved it. They made sure to get to school early or on time to get first pick! We had yoga balls, toggle stools, and floor seats. This year, I'm hoping to add some options that encourage more independence such as the laptop floor seats and the comfy seats are to be used in the library to help keep a love of reading alive! This year, I want to incorporate more choices so that all students will be able to have a seating option that helps them do their best work. School needs to be a more enjoyable experience and I believe having a comfortable and safe classroom environment is the first step to creating a love of learning.
