I had purchased a subscription to an online spelling/vocabulary program at the beginning of the last school year to help students get extra practice with learning sight words. I was completely amazed at how engaged they were with the program. A little extra practice each day really increased their sight word knowledge. One student went from knowing/being able to read 52 sight words to over 200 sight words! Using technology to support learning has been beneficial to my students as they learn by doing. We had so much success with the spelling/vocabulary program that I would like to use some programs that would provide the extra practice needed for Reading. These programs have engaging material to support phonics instruction as well as comprehension.
