The materials chosen will better assist my students who will soon be returning to school via e-learning in the classroom. My young First Grade students' will have to adapt to CDC guidelines and a new way of socially distant learning procedures. As a teacher, it is my job to ensure not only my students' academic success, but also nurture their heart, soul, and well-being. With the materials requested, I would implement a variety of Socially Distant wellness opportunities. 1.) Students would engage in R&R hour. During this time, students would have the opportunity to "Read and Relax" on their individual yoga mat, using their Scholastic Reader underneath their desk. I plan on providing them flash lights, and Fun Friday goodies such as smores kits to foster a love for Reading, and an opportunity aside from the seated position at their desk for the duration of 6 hours. 2.) The play dough would be used during "Brain Break, and Build" while students are at home on their breaks. This would provide students an opportunity away from the Computer Screen. 3.) Last, I am requesting individual Book Bags, Pencil boxes, and Chalk Sets for our Mindful nature walks, and literacy/recess time in shaded areas around our school! Mrs. Hanley's class thanks you in advance for your contributions!
