Many of the students I work with are prone to behavioral outbursts, I need to provide them with a space where they can feel comfortable, safe, and calm. The carpets will double as a place to calm down and refocus, as well as a place to read and learn independently when students are unable to do so in the general education classroom setting. My students and I are unique learners who work on floors, counters, standing, and sometimes while moving around, carpets provide another viable seating option for students who enjoy working around the room. No one wants to work on a cold tile floor, let's give our students a comfortable place to learn and work cooperatively in their own way!

About my class
