My students will prove that photosynthesis takes place in this lab. They will be able to identify the reactants and products of photosynthesis through investigation. This lab is great for their inquiry skills. If we get this Biokit my students will learn how to make algae beads, and get hands-on experience developing and testing a hypothesis using colored filters, their algae beads, and a bicarbonate indicator solution. They are learning through phenomenon-based lessons how harmful algal blooms impact the lives of Gulf of Mexico organisms and consequently their lives being that they are native to the gulf are in New Orleans, LA.
