Literacy is the foundation for other subject areas. It is fundamental to all levels of academic needs. The materials will facilitate language and literacy learning opportunities. Students will be engaged in the materials both as guided lessons, in peer learning as well as independently. These hands on materials will afford students the opportunity to building confidence in reading and allow them to not only learn but to assist their peers as their reading ability develops. These materials will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. Reading is important and critical at a young age. It helps to develop the mind.
