Students with moderate and severe disabilities need in-person, small group, direct instruction to build and maintain skills. It will be extremely important this school year to practice social distancing to help keep students well during the school year. Staff will use PPE and cleaning procedures, but most of my students will have difficulty using masks or face shields. However, we are fortunate that there is a door leading directly to a patio outside our classroom, but I will need seating and work space to use it appropriately. The benches can be used individually for one to one instruction or in a picnic table style arrangement for small groups.
