I am hoping to provide my students with a variety of educational toys. I teach 3-5 year old students that have a variety of different educational needs. I have some of my students for up to three years. Providing these young learners with multiple options to explore concepts that support our curriculum is very important. I will be using the materials during center time and small groups during the school day. Students get very excited to use different materials. I rotate class items on a regular basis to keep the students interested in exploring the room.
I would like to provide my students with classroom items that promote fine motor coordination. I can promote these skills with the Pegboard Numbers, Geoboard Design Center, Magnetic Wands and the Counting, Sorting and Patterning Trays. I want to give my students exposure to letters and numbers and I can help my students with this by having them explore with the Float and Find Alphabet Bubbles and the Learn to Count Dough Mats. My goal is to help strengthen speaking and language skills with the Hear Myself Sound Phone and the Positional Words Resource. The items chosen also promote an environment that encourages interactive play among peers. Social emotional development is important for early learners. The items chosen allow for play with multiple students.
