I am so excited to implement flexible seating in my third grade classroom! Flexible seating allows students to have some control over their environment, and to constantly collaborate with their peers! The wobble stools will provide movement to boys and girls who need to move around while working. Students can wiggle and wobble while they sit, which will increase focus. The lap desks will allow students to work anywhere in the classroom and the donut chairs will allow students to sit on the floor at a lowered table. My students will be able to choose a seating option that is comfortable and works best for their learning style. This option may even change throughout the day based on their need or activity. I believe this will promote problem solving and collaboration. These seating options will help with concentration and allow students to move while learning. Students will be engaged and on task. I think these options will increase student motivation as well!
