I need text that will captivate and hold students' interest. The Storyworks Jr. magazine will provide varying genres that are current and easy to relate to with this age group. I am always looking for new ways to engage and foster the love of reading. I believe this magazine will bring reading to life because students are able to read and enjoy text on their level. This subscription does an excellent job sending out articles regularly that my students would love to get their hands on! Not only will they be reading for enjoyment but the articles are written to address our state standards. Included in the magazine, the students will have rich reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar activities that can be used over a month's span in the classroom.Even better is the online technology component that the kids will have direct access to extend their learning in reading and writing. Since I teach low income students many do not have reading materials in their homes that are appropriate. These magazine will become a piece of literature to add to their personal collection and share with their families.
