Many of my students are not read to at home. Listening to books being read helps improve vocabulary, builds background knowledge, helps with comprehension, and makes reading enjoyable for struggling readers. My students need a functioning listening center to hear fluent reading so that they may become fluent readers themselves. We also use laptops and iPads for literacy and math intervention programs in our classroom. Our current headphones are either falling apart or not in working order. New headphones would allow more students to use the technology that is already available to them. Thank you for donating to our project!
