With a rapidly changing world, where technology is ever present, we seek to equip all of our students with a 21st century skill set that will aid them as our future leaders within our community and state. Through this project we will address Equity, Empowerment, and Innovation. We seek to provide equity and empower 100% of our students with literacy in the language of technology, coding and robotics, and to develop mindsets of curious exploration, critical and creative thinking. SPHERO robots, will provide our students with real life, hands-on learning opportunities to observe the link between our digital world and physical world. These robots also have the versatility to work with both block based coding and text based coding (Java) which will allow a smooth transition between the two languages. Through continued practice of coding, problem solving and debugging, students will develop perseverance and an analytical perspective that can encourage students to take ownership of their learning in other areas in their everyday lives.
