Books are the most important part of a preschool setting. Books provide stories to spark children’s imaginations and help them to make sense of the world! Books also can help teach many different things such as; counting, colors, cultures, shapes, manners, safety, emotions, weather/seasons and much more. Essential skills are taught by reading and looking at books such as retelling and letter/sound identification. This is the time where students can decide that they actually love books! Reading to students and encouraging them to read will make them more successful in their later years of school. The best part of our preschool day is everyone calmly coming together and having our minds swept away by an amazing book!

About my class
